Booking & Pricing
-
Booking starts with a free consultation, either in person at my Melbourne studio or online — whichever suits you. From there, I'll quote your piece, take a deposit to lock in your date, and start working on your custom design. You can request a consultation through the Booking page on this site. Yuna Tattoo is 100% appointment based, so I don't take walk-ins — this keeps the studio calm and one-on-one.
-
My hourly rate is $250 for the first 4 hours, then $200 per hour after that. A Full Day session (10am–5pm) is $1100, which includes prep, breaks, and aftercare. Smaller pieces start from $250. Pricing depends on size, detail, placement, and whether the piece is colour or black and grey — you'll get a quote at your consultation.
-
Tattoo length depends on size, detail, and whether it's colour, fine line, or realism work. As a rough guide: a small fine line piece can take an hour or two, a detailed colour realism or pet portrait often runs a Full Day, and large custom pieces (Dancheong, sleeves, back work) usually run across multiple sessions. I'll give you an honest time estimate at your free consultation so you can plan and budget properly.
-
A $200 deposit secures your appointment and comes off your final tattoo cost on the day. Deposits are non-refundable because they cover the design time I do before we meet, but they're transferable if you give me at least 3 days notice to reschedule. You can pay the deposit through the website by card (small processing fee applies) or by direct bank transfer (no fee) — the remaining balance on the day is cash only.

I work from a private studio in Melbourne's inner west, near Footscray and Sunshine. The full address and parking details are sent once your booking is confirmed — this keeps the space calm, private, and one client per day. If you're travelling in from the CBD, north side, or the bay, it's an easy drive with free parking when you arrive.
Design Process
-
If you've booked a consultation, we work on the design together on the day — it's the part of the process I love most. For more complex pieces, I'll sketch a rough blueprint with you at the consultation and then send through the finished design before your appointment. Small tweaks — size, placement, line weight, a colour swap — are absolutely part of the process and included. Bigger directional changes are best raised early so I have time to redraw properly, but I'd rather adjust than have you walk in unsure.
-
A reference image, a mood board, or even a rough sketch is genuinely helpful — but you don't need to come with a finished design. Most of my work is fully custom, drawn from a conversation about what the piece means to you. I won't copy another artist's tattoo exactly (it's their work, not mine), but I'm happy to take it as inspiration and build you something original in my style.
-
Tell me. Honestly. I'd rather rework it than have you sit for something you're not sure about — that's the whole point of seeing the design beforehand. We can adjust on the day for small things, or push the appointment back if it needs a proper redraw. Your deposit stays with the booking either way.
On the day
-
Eat a proper meal beforehand, sleep well the night before, hydrate, and skip alcohol for 24 hours — it thins your blood and affects how the ink sits. Wear comfortable, loose clothing that gives easy access to the area we're tattooing, and something dark in case of small ink marks. Numbing cream is fine if you'd like to use it — just apply it as the packet directs and let me know in advance.
-
One support person is welcome, especially for longer sessions. The studio is a small, private space, so I keep it to one guest at a time so we can both focus. If you'd rather come solo with Netflix, snacks, and good music, that works just as well — the vibe is calm either way.
Aftercare & Touch ups
-
After your session, I'll apply second skin or film over your tattoo — keep it on for up to 24 hours. Before you leave the studio I'll walk you through washing, moisturising, and what to avoid, and you can refer back to the full aftercare guide anytime HERE. Message me anytime if anything feels off — that support doesn't stop when you leave the studio.

The surface heals in about 2–3 weeks, but full healing (including the deeper layers settling) takes 4–6 weeks. Hold off on swimming, saunas, baths, and direct sun for at least 3 weeks, and keep workouts gentle for the first week — sweat and friction on a fresh tattoo cause more issues than people realise. Dry, flaky, slightly itchy skin around week 1–2 is completely normal.
-
Touch-ups are best booked 6–8 weeks after the tattoo, once it's fully settled and I can see exactly where the ink has taken. Small touch-ups on work I've done are complimentary within 6 months — if a spot has dropped out or a line needs sharpening, that's part of the process. If anything looks off before then (unusual redness, swelling, weeping), message me with a photo and I'll talk you through it.
